In Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal, where dry taps are a too-frequent reality, a school for learners with special needs just got a life-changing upgrade. Thanks to the generous efforts of the South African Muslim Charitable Trust (SAMCT), AM Moola Spes Nova School now has consistent access to clean water through a newly drilled borehole and upgraded sanitation facilities.
At LiquaFlo Borehole Solutions, while we weren’t directly involved in the project, we wholeheartedly support initiatives like this—where clean, sustainable water access becomes the foundation for dignity, wellness, and long-term community growth.
A Struggle Too Many Schools Know
For years, the learners and educators at Spes Nova struggled to maintain hygiene standards and daily routines due to unreliable municipal water supply. The school, which serves pupils with physical and cognitive challenges, often had to choose between prioritizing drinking water or ablution access—an impossible decision for any institution, especially one with vulnerable learners.
A Gift That Keeps Giving
The borehole, valued at R610,000, was fully funded and managed by SAMCT. After thorough water quality testing, the new supply was deemed fit for drinking, bathing, and all hygiene needs. Complementing this was a full renovation of the toilet facilities to better serve the unique requirements of the learners.
Staff at the school have already seen the difference. “We’ve noticed fewer health issues and a huge morale boost,” shared one caregiver. “Access to clean water has changed our school environment completely.”
Why LiquaFlo Supports Stories Like These

These are more than just installations. They are acts of care, catalysts for change, and steps toward a more water-secure future.
